Another amazing night of music and community. Beautiful sets from Know1Else (Jay Keating, Kelly Diamond with Ron Goad), Joe Giorno (with John Werntz), Rick Crump, and Peter Rafle Jr. Ron Goad joined me on percussion. Many thanks again to Jay Keating, Kelly Diamond and everyone else who contributed to the experience.

WILBR, Liam Keen and

Lori Grigsby with the “Chopped Liver Rhythm Section”

(Ron Goad - percussion, John Werntz - bass)

I met WILBR at the open mic at the New Deal Cafe in May. He was traveling the east coast playing open mics and clubs, sharing his journey of self discovery along the way. What a gifted young man. I was incredibly honored when he invited me to play an opening set for him at this show. And much to my unparalleled delight, Ron Goad (percussion) and John Werntz (bass) agreed to join me for my set. Liam Keen was amazing, and WILBR once again blew me away. It was an unforgettable evening.

My beautiful friend Jean Van White is an artist with a camera. She took a slew of wonderful photos at the show. These are a few of my favorites.

Songwriters Association of Washington Showcase

Lori Grigsby

It was a beautiful surprise when the SAW president, Jay Keating asked me to play a song to fill in for one of the Fairfax Folk Festival performers who was unable to make it that day. What an amazing group of multi-talented musical people. It was such a blessing to be included. Thank you Jay and everyone else involved for creating such a magical event.
